If you're not familiar with the Chew series, let me summarize: the world has suffered from an avian flu outbreak, chicken is highly illegal, the FDA is the most serious crime-fighting agency, and Tony Chu, a cibopath, is their secret weapon. Oh, and a cibopath is someone who gets psychic readings from the things they eat (not always food).
Now that you're caught up: in this newest installment, we meet a new agent with a new food-related special ability (it's gross); a food fight at Olive's school gets deadly; Applebee dreams up more ways to get Tony Chu in the line of fire; and we find out what Area 51 is really all about. Personally, reading this reminded me of why I enjoy omnibuses- it's easy to forget what happened last year in the last volume, and there's no real "catch-up". But this is a good, fun read- I recommend more for adults than teens, and for anyone who likes good cop-comedy tv shows. And you must start at the beginning to know what's going on!
